An honest reading of what your stock is actually protecting
Separate the buffer that guards production from the buffer that is simply left over from habit.

Clarity on where working capital actually sits
You will come away with a per-item reading of stock levels measured against real lead times and demand variation, so that capital tied up in inventory can be understood as either a reasonable safeguard or an inheritance from an earlier ordering habit — whichever it turns out to be.
Ref. OFR3-003 / Background
Stock levels that nobody quite remembers setting
Buffer stock often traces back to a specific incident — a late delivery, a demand spike — that prompted a higher reorder point at the time. Years later, the incident is forgotten but the reorder point remains, tying up capital without anyone being certain whether it is still warranted. This is a common and understandable pattern, not a sign of poor management.

Measuring buffer against current reality
We compare stock holdings item by item against current supplier lead times and observed demand variation, and note where the two align and where they do not. Where holdings are already reasonable, the assessment says so directly — the aim is an accurate reading, not a predetermined reduction target.

What working with us looks like
Once inventory and lead-time data are shared, the assessment proceeds on our side over the two-week scope, with brief questions if an assumption behind a figure needs confirming. You will receive the completed table and note at the end, with an offer to talk through any item you would like explained further.
Ref. OFR3-006 / Fee
¥18,000 for the complete assessment
The fee covers the full two-week scope, from receipt of inventory data to the finished per-item table.
Fees are in Japanese yen and exclude consumption tax. The assessment describes stock against recorded lead times and demand; it does not promise a lower inventory figure, and any reduction you choose to make remains your own decision.
Included
- Per-item buffer table against lead time and demand

How the reading is calculated
Buffer figures are set against supplier lead times drawn from your own purchasing history and demand variation calculated from recent sales or usage data, not from industry averages. The two-week scope suits most companies where inventory data is already recorded in a usable form; where records need tidying first, we will flag that before the scope is confirmed.

A no-cost conversation to check the fit
We are glad to discuss, without charge, whether your current data is ready for this kind of assessment. If reasonable holdings are what the numbers show, that is exactly the result the assessment is meant to surface — not an outcome we consider a shortfall on our part.
